LADYFINGER/BHINDI
Okra or Okro, Abelmoschus esculentus, known in many English-speaking countries as ladies’ fingers or ochro, is a flowering plant in the mallow family. It is valued for its edible green seed pods. One of the peculiar signs of this vegetable is the internal stickiness. The lady’s finger may be cut in to round pieces or sliced in to 4 halfes or may be put whole in a mix vegetable sabji. The taste is very specific to the vegetable and generally liked by children.
