One of the larger varieties, eggplant varicitis, is egg-shaped with whitish-purple stripes on the shiny skin. The creamy flesh is bitter in taste with many small, soft edible seeds.

storage and use
Eggplant is not good for long term storage. Hence, consume within a few days and keep in a cool place, away from direct sunlight.
The inner white flesh browns quickly after it’s cut, so refrigerate them as soon as you cut them or by placing the remainder on a bowl or plate, but avoid sealing, as this increases decay.
